Coastal Rowing Championships

The World Rowing Coastal Championships welcomes club rowers from around world to compete in an international competition. Courses will start from Saundersfoot and follow a course along the unique Pembrokeshire coastline.

Oar and Boat Hire

Swift, Filippi, Ave, Kanghua and Nelo are the official boat hire providers for this event. For boat rentals, please contact your chosen manufacturer directly. Boats will be rented on a first come first served basis.  If your preferred manufacturer no longer has any boats for your race you will need to contact your second option of boat manufacturer.
If you make a private hire arrangement with a non-official supplier your boat will be treated as a private boat and the supplier will not be able to have a support presence in the boat park in Saundersfoot Harbour or on the beach unless they wish to hire an exhibition space, if so, please contact communications@worldrowingcoastals2022.org. You will need to buy a ticket to book into an allocated boat park in Coppet Hall (10 minutes walk from Saundersfoot Harbour) for £12 for the weekend with the organising committee. All private C1x and C2x will be parked at Coppet Hall. Private C4x will be parked at Saundersfoot Harbour.

All boats and other equipment shall comply with World Rowing Rules of Racing, including specified safety equipment. All official hire boats & oars will be shared between teams, and the Official Suppliers cannot guarantee that crews will have the same equipment each day within their rental fleet.

Accreditation

Crew members and team officials will receive their accreditation at the registration desk in the Regency Hall. Team Managers will be required to bring photo identification (passport or international identification card) of all crew members to collect the accreditation for their crews. All competitors are required to carry their accreditation with them throughout the event.

It is essential you plan your travel arrangements prior to arriving in Saundersfoot.

Fly

The nearest international airport to Saundersfoot is Cardiff International Airport.

Drive

145km from Cardiff Airport - 1 hour 45 drive
350km from London Heathrow - 4 hour drive 

For help with airport transfers please contact Nirvana here - they have shuttle buses running from London Heathrow, Bristol and Cardiff.

Train

Alternatively it is possible to get a train to Saundersfoot (note there is a 20 minute walk from the train station down a steam road with no pavement into Saundersfoot) or Tenby

Bus

There is also a bus service from London Victoria.

Ferry

WCRBSF22 are delighted to be able to offer participants discounts on Ferries for Irish Sea Routes.  The offer details are listed below:

Stena
20% discount (before fees/dues) for journeys by car, motorhome, motorcycle on Irish Sea routes. Also includes boat trailers towed by van/minibus. Running 26 September - end of October 2022

Those travelling will have the option of booking Economy, Flexi or Premium motorist fares (terms and conditions vary foreach) and the prices shown will include the agreed discount. Discount is not given on any extras booked i.e. cabins, meals, etc.

Irish Ferries
Irish Ferries have special rates for travelling to and from the event. To check prices and make a booking, please send a request to clubdeals@irishferries.com quoting code ROWUK and including the details below:

- Names of all travelling
- Date of birth and nationality for each person
- Do any passengers require special assistance
- Dates of travel (out and return)
- Route
- Times of sailings
- Type of on board accommodation (e.g. ClubClass or cabin) if needed
- Vehicle make and registration number
- Where booking for a motorhome, please include height and length of the vehicle in meters
- A contact postal address
- A contact mobile phone number
- Name of the specific event that they're attending

This code is valid for bookings and travel up to 31/12/2022 and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion, offer or discount. Discount cannot be used if paying with Tesco Boost Tokens and applies to the cost of the journey excluding fees and charges.
