In October 2022, we’ll be welcoming over 1000 competitors to Wales across two weekends and we're going to need some help to pull off what promises to be an absolutely incredible occasion. We’re looking to recruit around 200 WaveMaker volunteers across a variety of roles to create an inclusive, engaging, and sustainable event.
No rowing experience required!
Applications are now open! If you have any questions please check out our frequently asked questions or check out some of the roles that our WaveMakers will carry out.
If you still have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note applications close: 9am, 16 February 2022.
We’re hugely excited to introduce the opportunity to apply to be a part of the event as a pair! We’re keen to ensure that our WaveMakers are diverse and inclusive. If you want to volunteer but are feeling nervous or need additional support, you can sign-up as a pair with a friend, family member, partner, or anyone else you’d like to volunteerwith. Joint applications must be for the same role and functional area but will offer an opportunity to get involved without feeling out of depth. Please bear in mind that joint applications give the opportunity to have a friendly face around the place, but you may still have to complete some tasks alone, or be stationed in different areas throughout the day.
If you are applying as a single volunteer but are nervous about the event you will be able to select to join the buddy system. This will allow you to be paired up with either individuals from the local community or internal matching within the volunteer pool to allow individuals to get to know each other before the event. You’ll be encouraged to meet-up and chat prior to the event and keep in touch on the day to ensure your buddy feels confident and prepared for the big event!
